Terms & Conditions
Effective September 25, 2026
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") are an agreement between you and BoomBop ("BOP", "we", "us") about your use of the BoomBop app and the theboombop.com website (together, the "Service"). These Terms are also the end-user licence agreement (EULA) for the BoomBop app. You must accept them before you register, sign in or use the app as a guest, and by using the Service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
BoomBop has ZERO TOLERANCE for objectionable content and abusive users. Anyone who posts, sends or broadcasts objectionable content, or who harasses or abuses other users, will have that content removed and will be removed from the Service. See section 8.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information and is part of these Terms.
1. Who can use the Service
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or guardian has reviewed these Terms and agrees to them on your behalf.
You may use Ask Bop and watch Stage without an account. An account is needed to save conversations, join productions, and broadcast.
2. Your account and your Bop ID
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details safe and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
Your Bop ID is your handle on the Service. It must not impersonate another person or organisation, infringe anyone's rights, or be offensive. A Bop ID belongs to one account and cannot be transferred once claimed; if you delete your account it is released and someone else may claim it. We may reclaim a Bop ID that breaks these rules.
You may hibernate your account (everything is kept until you switch it back on) or delete it permanently from Settings at any time. Deleting is immediate and cannot be undone.
3. Ask Bop
Ask Bop is an AI assistant for dancers. It answers from BOP's own knowledge base, from listings we maintain, and from an approved set of dance-industry websites. It is designed never to invent a class, audition, price, date or deadline, and every listing it shows names its source and when it was last verified.
Even so, answers can be incomplete, inaccurate or out of date. Ask Bop's answers are general information, not professional, legal, medical, financial or career advice, and they are not a promise that any class, audition, job or opportunity exists or is right for you. Check details with the organiser before you rely on them, and use your own judgment. Where Bop offers to have a member of the BOP team follow up, that follow-up is also general guidance and not a professional engagement.
BOP is not affiliated with the studios, choreographers, agencies, productions or websites that Ask Bop mentions or links to, unless we say so.
4. Tour
Tour lets a production share announcements, schedules, messages and a crew list with its members. The person who creates a production is responsible for who they invite and for what is posted to it. Information you post to a production is visible to its crew, and remains visible to them (without your name) if you leave or close your account.
Production admins may remove members, and members may leave, at any time. We do not check the content of productions unless it is reported to us.
5. Stage
Stage lets cleared dancers broadcast live to everyone using the Service, and lets anyone watch. Broadcasting is by invitation: BOP decides who may go live and may withdraw that access at any time.
If you broadcast, you are responsible for everything in it. You must own or have permission to use the music, choreography and other material in your broadcast, and you must have the consent of anyone else who appears in it. You must not broadcast nudity, sexual content, violence, harassment, hate, dangerous activity, or anything that breaks the law or these Terms.
Broadcasts are live and are not recorded by us, but viewers may be able to record their screens. Do not broadcast anything you would not want to be recorded.
Viewers may report a broadcast. Our operators may end any broadcast at any time.
6. Your content
You keep ownership of everything you post, write or broadcast on the Service ("your content"). So that we can run the Service, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, transmit and reproduce your content, only as needed to provide the Service to you and to the people you share it with. This licence ends when your content is deleted, except where it has already been shared with others or where we need to keep it under our Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for your content. You confirm that you have the rights to share it and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights or break any law.
7. What you must not do
You must not:
- break the law, or encourage anyone else to;
- harass, threaten, bully or intimidate anyone, or post hate speech;
- post sexual content involving anyone, or any content involving minors that is sexual or exploitative;
- impersonate a person, studio, agency or production, or misrepresent who you are;
- post or broadcast content you do not have the rights to;
- share someone else's personal information without their consent;
- post spam, scams, or fake opportunities, or use the Service to advertise without our permission;
- try to access another account, our systems or our data without authorisation, or interfere with the Service;
- copy, scrape, reverse-engineer or resell the Service or its content, or use automated tools to access it without our permission;
- use the Service to build a competing product or to train an AI model.
8. Zero tolerance, moderation and enforcement
There is no tolerance on BoomBop for objectionable content or abusive users. Objectionable content includes, without limitation, anything listed in section 7, sexual or violent content, hate speech, harassment, threats, and spam. Abusive users are removed.
We may review, remove or refuse any content, end any broadcast, and suspend, hibernate or close any account that we reasonably believe breaks these Terms, harms other users, or exposes us to legal risk. Where we suspend or close an account for these reasons we will usually tell you why, and a closed account can be recovered by our operators within 90 days.
You can report a broadcast, a message, a comment, an announcement, a person, an answer or a listing from inside the app, and you can block any user. Blocking someone removes their messages, comments and broadcasts from what you see straight away, stops their notifications reaching you, and tells the BOP team.
We review every report and block, and act on objectionable content within 24 hours: we remove the content and suspend or close the account of the user who provided it.
9. BOP's content
The Service, including its design, the BoomBop and Ask Bop names and marks, the Bop character, and the knowledge base, guidance and methodology behind Ask Bop, belong to BOP or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. You may use them only as part of using the Service. You may not copy, republish, sell or create derivative works from them without our written permission.
Listings and answers may include material from third-party sources, which belongs to those sources and is credited where it appears.
10. Third-party services and links
The Service links to other websites and services (studios, audition postings, social platforms, booking pages) and uses third-party providers to sign you in, deliver notifications and carry live video. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their content, availability or terms. Your use of them is at your own risk and subject to their own terms.
11. Changes to the Service
The Service changes often. We may add, change or remove features, or stop offering the Service, at any time. Where a change materially reduces what you can do with your content, we will try to give you notice.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY AND UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT ANY ANSWER, LISTING OR OPPORTUNITY IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE, CURRENT OR AVAILABLE. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
13. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BOP AND ITS OWNERS, STAFF, ADVISORS AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF INCOME, OPPORTUNITY, DATA OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, ANY ANSWER OR LISTING, ANY BROADCAST, OR ANY THIRD-PARTY SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN TOLD SUCH DAMAGES ARE POSSIBLE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AND ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS (US$100). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THESE LIMITATIONS, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
14. Indemnity
You agree to defend and indemnify BOP and its owners, staff, advisors and service providers against any claim, loss or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your broadcasts, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms or of anyone else's rights.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and you consent to their jurisdiction. If you live somewhere whose laws give you the right to bring a claim locally, nothing here takes that right away.
Before starting any formal proceeding, please contact us at support@theboombop.com so we can try to resolve the issue.
16. General
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and BOP about the Service. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a term, we are not giving up the right to enforce it later. You may not transfer these Terms to anyone else; we may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service changes. When we do, we will change the effective date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
